Tips for SPM Examination

For my SPM, I scored 9A+, 1A and 1A-. I got A+ for Bahasa Melayu, Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, ICT, Sejarah and Pendidikan Moral. I got A for English and A- for Bahasa Cina. Here, I am sharing the tips for SPM. These tips are intended for students taking SPM 2021 or later. Tips for Bahasa Melayu, English and Pendidikan Moral are no longer available as there are significant changes to the examination format from SPM 2021 onwards.

    Is it true that peribahasa only counted as 1 word?

    Yes, it is true for Rumusan, Karangan Bahan Rangsangan and Karangan Respons Terbuka. It is clearly stated in the mark scheme.

      The subject I got A was English. It was most probably because I screwed up the Novel section of English Paper 2.

    Thank you for this hardwork but I still have a question. How do you remember sejarah facts. As in I am studying sejarah both f4 n f5 before 3 weeks of exam. Of course I am not sure whether I can remember all of them so i bought a whizz thru sej reference book to be read maybe 1 week before exam. Will that help? Next, what do you do after trial spm. Do you study chap by chap all subjects again OR jz to past year trial and spm questions ? Again thank you =) . I am just worried for my pendidikan moral ( you know why ) and bm or eng ( never had confidence in writing essays but after passing up the paper and then reading the essays I feel like wow did I wrote that ) .     Did you receive a scholarship for further studies after getting your SPM results?

      Yes, I got the MOE Bursary which is given to all SPM candidates who scores 9A+ or above. It covers the fees for me to study A Level at Taylor's College.

      If you are a receipient of the MOE Bursary, then JPA will offer you scholarship for both local and overseas, as long as your pre-university results meets their requirements and you are offered a place by a university that is in the JPA list.

    Hi I'm currently form 4 student and will undergo spm next year. Should I finish my syllabus (including form 5) now or should I focus on form 4 syllabus and just study form 5 syllabus next year?

      Now you should only focus on the Form 4 syllabus. Wait until you have finished your Form 4 year-end examination before you start studying the Form 5 syllabus.

    Hai Daniel Lim, my daughter is in form 5. She just finished her trial exam. She got 71 in maths but she keep on failing in her add maths. Her ambition is to become doctor. How to help her? Please help me to help her.

      Hello...just a passerby....also taking SPM 2015. I would suggest your daughter to work hard on certain topics like F4 C10 & C11, since 2 Qs will come out from these two chapters in P2 Sec C. Must also focus on F4: C2, C4, C6, C7, C8 ; F5: C2, C4, C5. Do more SPM Past Year Qs, Trial Papers 2015 (cause this year have KBAT Qs), and topical Qs (if still cannot master some of the chapters). Ask friends or teachers to help to understand better if possible cause it helps a lot. There's still 30+ days left to SPM Add Math exam (plus a week off in the middle) so your daughter still can improve her result. Good luck for SPM. =)
